Meeting Assistant 3.18 is now available
Salesforce Spring’18 will be released on the 10th of February and in some instances a week before. To coincide with Spring’18, we are proud to announce the release of Meeting Assistant version 3.18.
In addition to performance improvements and bug fixes, the main theme of this version is following up on meeting decisions. In practice, this upgrade make Meeting Assistant work better together with Salesforce Task functionalities.

How to keep track of meeting tasks?
It is one thing to agree on doing something during a meeting, it’s a different thing to actually embark on a path to implement said things.
Meeting Assistant helps keep track of any action meeting attendees agreed to pursue with the help of Salesforce Task functionality. You can create tasks without leaving Meeting Assistant. In addition to being able to enter subjects and due dates, this feature enables assigning tasks to meeting attendees.
If the features of the aforementioned basic task lack something vital, you can also use the same UI to launch a “Create Task With More Options” dialog. This is the built-in Salesforce standard view with all the familiar fields and functionalities.
Naturally, if you have already filled in any of the fields in the task assignment view, corresponding fields are automatically pre-filled in the Salesforce Task as well.
We have also created several bespoke task automation processes to adapt the Task data during or after the meeting. In practice we can, for example, modify tasks based on some criteria, or create and assign tasks automatically after a meeting.

Using Salesforce task status & record types
We work closely with many of our clients. This relationship has given us insights as to how companies actually use Salesforce tasks in their daily operations. It helps us run across many business-related modifications that affect tasks in a small, but crucial manner.
Consequently, we have developed necessary modifications to Meeting Assistant. A couple of examples are described as below.
The default Salesforce Task status is “Not started”. As it happens, several organizations have opted to use something more suitable for them. From now on, Meeting Assistant automatically uses the organization’s default status as the Task creation status.
Besides, some organizations have customized tasks with the help of Record Type. So, from the version 3.18, user will be able to choose the default record type with every new Task created from Meeting Assistant.
